Aelfgifu verch Morgan

I am currently a citizen of the shire of Mountain Edge (Yamhill County, Oregon) in the Kingdom of An Tir. My recently discovered pseudonym is the Magnificent Maurrice, a late period minor English nobleman and minstrel. My interests are: everything. Seriously, everything. It is all way too interesting and eventually I want to try it all – it is what keeps me going. Currently the things I am working most avidly at are juggling, glass art, and metalwork. The things that I have yet to actually do much of which are weighing most on my mind are building a medieval intaglio printing press, building a medieval style glass cutting wheel, and building and learning to play the hurdy gurdy. Hurdy gurdies are just cool. Anything so small that sounds like a bagpipe and is played with keys has my vote for neat musical invention of the millennium.

My modem background includes a BA in sculpture and art history (specializing in medieval art history of course) from Portland State University in Oregon. At some point I intend to pursue a graduate degree in one or both of these fields. I have done internships at the Freer and Sackler Galleries, which are part of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, and at Northwest Art Objects Conservation in Portland, Oregon. I have taken varying amounts of Italian, Latin, French, and German. I am currently an artist in residence at Chehalem parks and recreation in Newberg, Oregon.

Should you desire to contact me, wish to commission something, have some avenues of research to suggest, want to report issues with the website, stuff like that, feel free to send me an email at vandy( at )vandybennett( dot )com.

Ok, here is the list of past, current, and future projects. They all probably count as "in progress" since I am always looking for more information on my huge array of interests. Some are linked, some are still just passing thoughts so have not yet been pursued.
