Pricing Guidelines for Aelfgifu’s Glass

Glasses:

Basic Simple Glass with a possible decoration or two: $25

(examples of simple decoration: colored lip wrap, body color with frit or powder, crackle glass)

Glass with more complicated decoration: $30 - $35

(examples: crackle glass with lip wrap, body wrap, multiple decorations)

Uber Glasses of coolness: $40 - $50

(examples: prunted glasses, glasses with crackle AND wraps AND stamped decoration, claw beakers with solid or blown claws, early goblet styles, vessels with blown feet)

Enameled Glasses:

For porcelain low temp enamel, around $20 per glass on top of basic shape (so around $45)

For real high temp enamel, around $40 per glass on top of basic shape (around $65 per glass) – note, if there is gold in this decoration this will be done with porcelain as real gold is REALLY expensive.

For real high temp enamel with REAL GOLD, around $40 for enamel PLUS $50 to cover the price of the gold paint and another additional firing, plus the price of the glass itself (around $115 per glass)

Other Shapes:

Bowls: usually $30 - $50

Bottles and Ewers: usually $40 - $60

Very small apothecary bottles: $15 - $30 depending on specific decorations and complexity

Glass Juggling Balls: $30 per set

Glass Cone Lamps: $25 per cone, $40 per cone and simple metal hanger

For prices on other shapes, please drop me an email. These are a general guide, it varied from piece to piece. My prices are based on my spending $35/ hour on shop time plus mileage, plus materials, and making $10/hour if I am lucky… I give SCA people good prices because I love you all dearly and want lots of cool people to have cool glass!
